Powerful Protein Bar... A Perfect Healthy Snack...

Hi all. This was told by one of the Dietician friend of mine. So i thought it must be share with you all. During this lockdown we must take care our health and utilise the time for making our body healthier and also make our immunity strong.

As we know, our body doesn’t store protein, in fact it loses protein every day due to natural body wear and tear. Everyday you need to replenish the protein since it is essential in improving your overall health, such as it improves skin and hair health, aids in the production of enzymes and hormones, and repairs the daily wear and tear of your body.

When your body starts to lose protein during the day, you start craving for a food/snack. Switch your snack with a power snack.

Ingredients :

  1. One Bowl Oats
  2. Two scoop protein powder of your choice.
  3. Crushed Dry Fruits : Almond, Cashew, Wallnuts, Black Raisin, Ground nuts
  4. Honey - 2 tea spoon
  5. Jaggary - 1 bowl
  6. Cinnamon - 1/2 tea spoon

Method:

  1. Roast oats and protein powder for 3-4 mins.

  2. Roast all dry fruits separately for 5 mins.

  3. Heat up jaggary till melt and then add honey in it.

  4. Switcho the stove and add all ingredients in it.

  5. Then take stuff in a tray make pieces like Bar.

I prefer such homemade protein bars as a healthy snacks for my Son.

During this lockdown, we can give maximum time for work out. And adding this Protien Bar in our diet will give good result. Hope you like it.

Hello @Rohan10 ,

That’s really nice of you to share the recipe of your version of protein bars. I like when I see fellow Local Guides who share my passion for healthy lifestyle. The only product that I don’t have on hand is the jaggary. I am not sure if I will find it on the market. Do you have a replacement?

Hi @MoniDi . Thank you so much for your feedback. There is no replacement for Jaggary as it’s important for bounding all the ingredients together for bar. And also it is rich in iron. Sugar or brown sugar will be high in calories which will not be correct in view of healthy snack. I hope you will get jaggary in market :). Thank you again.

Hello @MoniDi 1 cup of dark brown sugar along with 2 tsps of molasses mixed well together should give you a reasonable substitute for 1 cup of jaggery. Hope this helps!
