The previous post regarding points lost has now been resolved.
I am now pleased to be in the level 8 category again!

@user_not_found , what we can see from your profile is that 48 of your reviews and 15 of your photos + videos are private
This can be due to a glitch, or to a violations of the Community policy.
In addition the points can be removed due to an update of the setting for Google’s My Activity . Please read: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps?
If on My Activity your setting is different from this one here below, your answer are automatically deleted and the points not given.
On the Help page of: Answer questions Google tells us:
- Make sure you have the latest updated Google Maps.
- Make sure that your Web & App Activity is on.

Is there some way to recover the lost points?
I changed this setting now, but I lost 30,000+ answers because of this
