Plus Codes on Google Calendar not opening in Google Maps

As a local guide based in Rwanda where street addressing is not fully implemented, I usually rely on Plus Codes. Those can function as your house number. They work pretty well. Just long press on any location in Google Maps and you get the string of text along with a plus sign and the name of your location. That’s the plus code.

When I tap on a plus code, it gets copied on my device clipboard. The challenge is that when I paste it into a Google calendar location field and save, Google Maps doesn’t easily take me to the exact location. It prompts with a question that asks me to verify it.

This issue is only for iPhones. On Android, it works well.

You can try this Plus code: 2CMQ+X3F Rwamagana

Hi @Baptenda

I can not suggest a solution, but wanted to mention that Google Maps on IOS generally has fewer features than found in the Android app. Maybe you found another one of those.

Cheers

Morten

Could be, but what I found is that this is happening to plus codes generated in my region: Rwanda and Uganda. I tried those in the US, and South Africa, and it works well on my iOS.

Thanks @Baptenda

Please send feedback in the App about this to the developers.

Maybe @MashaPS would take a look at this also.

Cheers

Thanks a gain, @MortenCopenhagen . I used the shake device option to send the feedback along with the screenshot :slightly_smiling_face: Pretty handy.

Looking forward to hearing from @MashaPS .
