Places with Consistent Great Taste in Lekki

Foodies, Travelers and Critics are often disappointed when they enter restaurants and lounges with high expectations of great taste or with an expectation to savour a repeat of a taste they were once served with. Some of us battle with the truth or wrongness of Auguste Gusteau’s famous quote “Anyone can Cook”. I will rather go with Brad Bird’s character, Anton Ego in Ratatouille, when he said ‘I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau’s famous motto: “Anyone can cook”, but I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere’.
So, I have come to accept that not everyone can cook, but a great cook can come from anywhere. But again, the art of cooking is a complex, nay, a unique art where consistency in good taste is far the greatest huddle that every great cook must face. It behooves me now, to expose not just the great cooks around Lekki region but also a concise focus on places where great taste of particular dishes can be consistently met.

Yamarita:

Mega Chicken, Lekki and Sweet Sensation have never been known to disappoint our taste for Yamarita. Their consistency is applaud-able.

Custard:

Tantalizers have managed to train their staff on this tasking art. Tantalizers, assures us of that natural childhood taste of custard.

Jollof Rice:

As common as Jollof rice is, many who have attempted to maintain a consistent great taste have failed, however, the Jollof rice served at The Place, Lekki hardly ever fails to offer a rich rewarding taste of their Jollof rice. With multiple choices of rice served, their Jollof rice graciously stands out.

Egusi Soup:

If you want to have a well-made and tasty Egusi soup tasting, you may want to make your way to ‘Pot-a-soup at Badore, Ajah’, or well, not to sound corny but you may also want to try out my mother or sister’s house or to any neat local restaurants in Surulere instead.

Vegetable Soup:

Vegetable soup is notably one of the most sought-after soup across all tribes. For that great taste of vegetable soup; afang, efo-riro, or green vegetable, just proceed to MEGA chicken, Delta Pot, Sweet Kiwi, or Unusual Cuisine.

White Soup (Nsala):

Your best bet for this delicacy well respected by the Igbos is either homemade or a local neat joint. At Lekki, you may want to consider making way to Admiralty Road, Lekki Phase 1, Labule Restaurant.

Porridge:

Say no more, Delta Pot is your preferred cook here. Anytime you pay them a surprise visit, that wholesome taste is what you’ll get. And yes, it is affordable.

Beans:

Beans delicacies or the famous locally made beans ‘Ewa Agonyin’, well respected by the Yorubas is a meal to die for! Agoyin Special/Cuisines offers one of the tastiest, freshly made Ewa Agonyin. Make sure to grab some fried dodo (plantain) or bread, together with fish, for a perfect combo taste!

Fried Rice:

Everybody loves a great plate of well-made spicy yummy fried rice and MasterLee Chinese Takeaway and Delivery maintains consistency in offering one of the best fried rice delicacies yet.

Coconut Rice:

Say no more; just proceed to Buka Hut for your tasty coconut rice. It was the first place and the last place I had a good taste of coconut rice.

Ofadaa:

The Battle of the Titans on this meal has always been between the ofadaa served at TerraCulture and Ofadaa Hut. Its special stew sauce served alongside unapologetically leaves you with a hunger for more.

Amala:

For an unforgettable Amala experience, behold the famous Amala Express and Amala.com! They not only leave you wanting for more but keep you coming back every now and again so make sure to be fully ready before you stop by.

And this is a wrap, before my next journey to finding out the best Eatery (lounges and locals excluded) in the city of Lagos. By the way, Circa is in town; in the heart of Lekki phase 1! Tell them Anton Ego is coming, they best be prepared. Ha-ha!
