Here is a list of my top 5 places you should see when in Rabat the capital of Morocco. These are places I have visited, some of them more than once and hence this is my express well informed opinion.
- Tower of Hassan or as it is called in French, Tour Hassan . This is an uncompleted mosque located just on the fringes of Rabats Medina. It was commissioned in 1195 AD and was supposed to have been the largest Mosque in the Muslim world as of then. Unfortunately work stalled but what is left today, several columns and the imposing minaret (about 40 m) is intriguing and gives as a gist about medieval Morocco.

The Kasbah of the Udayas is a medieval fort built around the the 12th Its huge walls and and doors are moving. Inside you find the whole community of houses interlinked by narrow streets but, still habitable till date. I would imagine this fort was near to impenetrable back then.

Hay Riad. This is and Urban development with all the the attractions a modern city can offer you anywhere in the world. It is the most planned part of Rabat with beautiful streets a landscaping. One of Morocco’s tallest building with architectural touch is located in this enclave. Also located here is the largest hypermarket in Rabat the marjane Hay Riad with its associated attractions.

The Rabat Medina: Just as all other Medinas, this offers a fair understanding of the daily life of Moroccans in the old days. You would also be able to find all Moroccan artefacts here. You could also just take a walk through the narrow allays connecting the numerous buildings,trust me it is an exciting experience.

The Marina Bouregreg: lying just on the border of the two villes of Rabat and Sale is built on the River Bourgreg and offers you all the experience any modern day Marina would offer you today. It is well kept and the crisp clean. Just taking a walk down the river is therapeutic
