Why is my home address described as: 1 Albert St, Bridgebank Cape Town7130. Bridgebank is an area in a town called Somerset West which has the postal code of 7130. It is 40 km outside of the city of cape town, why does google maps adhere to this description?
Hi @SJvdMerwe
Adding a link sometimes may help to give a faster answer.
In any case, I think you are referring to this street: Albert St
As you said, the address is displayed as Bridgebank - Cape Town 7130, South Africa
The reason why this happen is displayed in the next screenshot. If you make a search in Google Maps for Cape Town District , you will see that Somerset is included in Cape Town district
According to City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality (CPT) Google Maps seems to show the correct information, however, if the information is wrong, you should submit a link to an official (governative) map to the Google Maps Help Community, to escalate the issue to the Google Maps Team

PS: I am going to move this post to the How-tos section on Connect, the place where Local Guides share questions related to Google Maps and Connect.
I must confess that the logic of your response escapes me. Why would or rather what would make any person suddenly go from Cape Town to searching Cape Town District. In fact this pseudo geographical entity you refer to as the Cape Town District would appear to be an invention of Gmaps itself. No South African that let alone anyone that resides in the Western Cape ever uses the term. It appears to be a self-created synonym for the Cape Metropole. I suspect the changes to google maps that would be required to give these place name descriptions a coherent logic lies at level that will neither be revealed nor will be accessible to any public end user forum or group.
