Did you have the chance to count “The devil’s fingers”, on the left side of the cathedral?
The legend says the devil was kicked out from the baptistery and left his fingerprint on one side of the cathedral. If you try to count them once, you will never get the same number the second time.
The University that you have mentioned is called Scuola Normale Superiore, and only selected students are admitted to study there.
I didn’t try that I wasn’t aware but the entrance door of the cathedral there is a small lizard that traditionally brings good luck to anyone who touches it, why is rubbed by many visitors and many students for the exams go well.
Beautiful photos, they look very professional! Pisa is on my bucket list of places to visit too.
Recently, I visited Abu Dhabi and I was able to see a copy of the Leaning Tower of Pisa called Capital Gate. It is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city and it is designed to incline 18° west which makes it the farthest man made leaning building in the world. Did you know of its existence?
By the way, did you have the chance to review the gelateria on Google Maps? It would be great for other people who would like to visit it and try their best gelato.
If you are taking such great photos with your phone camera, then you really must love photography.
You are correct about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, it has background and history which makes it so valuable.
From what I learned during my trip to the United Arab Emirates, people do a lot of copies of world-known buildings and they try to make them better. However, if the place doesn’t have a story to tell, to me it’s just another building or skyscraper as in the above case.
@AkhilGarg91 how did you like Pisa? I really fell in love with Tuscany when I visited there 2016, and I spent one day in Pisa. I have to say I didn’t know what to expect from the Tower, but as I saw it, it actually was much bigger than in photos.
It’s definitely impressive architecture and I read somewhere that it took two centuries to build.
I really liked it. The Piazza de miracoli is beautiful, apart from that I liked the city, history, culture and many monuments and other churches, You can find on my blog. Of course, how can I forget the Gelateria in Pisa, it was amazing.
