Photography made me a better traveler, traveling made me a better photographer

I’ve always been a visual person and maybe because of this I’ve always liked painting and taking photos. An image is worth a thousand words! However, if not shared with other people, it loses its value. Over the last years I’ve traveled a lot taking pics and sharing them on Google Maps because for me, as well as for many other people in the world, a photo showing the visited place has much more weight than all the attempts to describe the beautiful landscapes you saw on your trip.

Of course, it shouldn’t be an ordinary no-value snapshot which is just pressing a button on your camera! I’m not a professional photographer, still I’ve always tried to take a beautiful image. This doesn’t require having some expensive equipment, it requires some careful thinking though, that is positioning and studying your surroundings. To take a good photo you just need a smartphone, the modern ones have all that is necessary to capture great images. You should only put in some efforts.

And I noticed that taking photos has made me a better traveler, while traveling has made me a better photographer. What I mean is that, first of all, photography makes you think much more about your surroundings, explore your environment. Trying to capture some unforgettable image, you start to see the world instead of just walking through it. At the same time, while taking a lot of pics in the hope of creating a captivating image, while working with your photos and trying to be selective, you can find your own unique style. And I hope I managed to find it! In fact, the more you travel, the more you are obsessed with photography! On the other hand, if your photos are beautiful and taken in a right way, people will definitely like them. It’s hard not to like incredible sunsets, stunning landscapes, mouthwatering food, such images make people want to pack their suitcases and join you. And it is very encouraging because through you and your experience people who you don’t even know consider if they should visit this place.

I believe that sharing my travel photos on Google Maps is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life because it develops me both personally and professionally.
