Hi Dear All LGs,
…Lemurs (also known as Lemurids): …
Here is an Album of Lemurs, selected from a 2 day Photo-Shoot, in Mysuru Zoo (Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens), Karnataka, India.
Tourists & LGs: One of the best Zoos, in India – worth seeing a full day.
Lemurids, the medium-sized mammals (primates), are from Madagascar. Intelligent looking eyes, the long, bushy tails and soft, woolly fur (of varying coloration) are notable features of these animals.
With hind legs slightly longer than the forelegs, they keep leaping several metres between trees; they also have good sense of smell and binocular vision. These sociable animals live in groups of 10 to 30. Most of the Lemurs eat fruit, leaves, and drinks nectar etc., with some exceptions.
The mother lemur gives birth to one or two offsprings (highly seasonal breeders), after a gestation period of 120 to 140 days. Female lemurs show dominance in sex and have priority to access food. Male lemurs compete to win their mates.
With more than 100 species, a number of lemur species are considered as endangered.

Tips
My Preferred settings:
Aperture: F/4 to F/8.
Shutter speed: Preferably 1/200 or above; but not less than 1/160
ISO: Best 100, but won’t allow above 800.
Zoom: Minimum 200 mm (mostly); the above shots are at 500mm (Sigma 150 – 500 mm)
Shooting mode: Best Manual; then S mode, then A Mode
Stand: I personally prefer Monopod; but tripod also is fine.
Note: (1). Lens hood should be in place & be properly fixed (2). Always use the viewfinder
Dear friends, what do you think about this animal & the Album? Please
