Photo count not updating

My Google photo count has stopped updating for the past week. It looks like the individual counts are still increasing, only the aggregate seems to be stuck.
it looks like this problem has happened intermittently in the past, but I’m not sure how to resolve it. Anyone else with the same issue, and maybe a fix?

@Bradburry and @Behroz2

This is not a bug. It is a sensible decision to not waste computer power and electricity to update the totals more often.

Please see this post What happened to my points? that I wrote together with ErmesT. It explains the typical delays in our contributions getting counted and updated.

Thanks for the info.

Certainly understand the process, but in my particular case, the photo counts have been updating daily for the past several years. Something specifically changed for me about a week ago - so unless there was a significant process change that Google made a week ago that is affecting everyone equally (not likely), there seems to be a different problem in my specific case. It will probably work itself out over time however.

@Bradburry , Having the same problem. I’ve reached out to the moderators here, and they’ve told me that it has to do with server resources, and that it’ll be OK. It IS a bit disheartening seeing a flat line for the past week, and I was still considering posting an article regarding it. I’ve taken screenshots along the way, and was hoping that someone could identify the differences in the way charts look.

From what I see, the tail end of the chart has dots indicating how many photos have been added for each day, and the previous week is green. The green line has always highlighted the previous week’s data (kind of), and when the update comes through, the dots disappear, and the curve is corrected. Since my current line is all orange/yellow now, and only one dot remains, I can’t help but think that there’s an error in data processing. Seeing that others have recognized the same problem/issue is a little more reassuring. - Steve

I am seeing the same thing. I’ve had the same total view count of 14.1 mill for the last week or two.

@Bradburry Feel exactly the way you do. Didn’t mind when the end of the curve had dots and the curve itself was jumbled, but now that it’s been a flatline for more than a week, and all but one dot has disappeared, also feeling that the problem is different. I even went through all my pics and deleted ones that were hidden (there’s a link somewhere out there). After posting a pics last week, I went to see that all had at least 10 views, and one had null(0), which worried me…essentially is saying that the count field is undefined. Adding this to another count is undefined, and would cause the count to be voided out. I’m probably wrong, Morton has been around a LONG time and knows best. I HAVE been thinking…how then have some people acquired 11B views and not had a problem, when we only have a few M. - Steve

I’ve been in the same situation as you for about 1 week!

Well today it looks like it caught up for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully everyone else had the same resolution.
