Today I tried the new VIP Star Track Section in the leaderboards System which is amazing, Star tracking is when you wish to track the performance of your photos and this feature in the system enables you to track up to 10 photos, you can choose photos by yourself as you wish ( top 10 photos or 10 photos you want to compare their data).
After reading the online help information part for this section which is very detailed, you can start by adding up to 10 photos and you can easily compare their data since they were published and the expected predictions in the future which you will see in the graphs below from my own board.
in this part, it shows a comparison between your photos in views as you see in the graph and you can see the exact number if u move the mouse bar to any of these bars.
this part is my favorite which will show the use of the average views per day as a performance indicator to predict the performance of these photos in the future.
Thank you for sharing your Photo Charting experience using the leaderboards System. What I’d like to know is how difficult was it for you to use these new system features and achieve the results that you have shown.
@AdamGT
The leaderboards system is an amazing platform to track and analyze your work monthly to know the number of views and points gained this month among other details, I encourage everyone to try it.
The analysis makes you feel motivated weekly to visit new places and capture your own images and writes your unique reviews about this place, Month after month you will notice how your work is growing on the map and you will know exactly the type of pictures you will want to take from weekly practicing on different angles.
Monitoring your data monthly is also important to know the number of photos and average daily views on your top photos, you will start monitoring them from the moment the views start to jump a little higher than other photos which will give you clews that this place deserved to be visited and take your own picture which led to a lot of people seeing your photos and kinda liked them.
Using the leaderboards system is also not hard, the best thing is to read carefully theonline help information in each section which is very detailed, I will have to say you did an amazing job explaining all these instructions to all local guides.
Thanks for that excellent feedback @Mo_TravelleerX , you’ve clearly shown that the system is more than just showing a “leaderboard” and can be used as a tool to help you monitor and improve on your contributions and the Local Guide outcomes achieved. Well done! I totally agree with you, to get the best out of the system, reading the online help information is important and a good place to start.
@Mo_TravelleerX I like what you have here, and I’m working with @AdamGT to fix a few glitches in mine.
My forecast chart looks a bit different to yours, as the gap between my #1 and #2 photos is VERY large. Also, the forecast numbers look unrealistic, but I expect they’ll regularise as I add a few weeks of data going forward.
Indeed each of our charts will most likely look different as our base data is different. The forecast numbers may also appear unrealistic and purely based on the historical data. This is where firstly it pays to get on board early so that you build up as much historical data as possible and secondly, that you update regularly, at least once a month and preferably on the same day of the month.
While as you say, the forecast should settle down over time, the other comment I would make is that if it doesn’t then this suggests that you are continually taking the same sort of photos!!!. One of the benefits of the forecast is that it tells us, and as written in the online help information, based on all things being equal that is you don’t change what you have been doing in the past, the future will continue to reflect this. I hope this makes sense.
You use the leaderboard system in such an efficient way @Mo_TravelleerX thanks for sharing this informative charts with us. And a big thanks to @AdamGT for to introduce this system to us .
@Mukul_Anand Thanks for your words, I really appreciate it. I just did my best to explain this part to other local guides who missed @AdamGT Online meeting last month and to encourage others to try for themselves
@Stephanie_OWL on the leaderboard system when you click on the StarTrack section first before doing anything read the guidelines provided by @AdamGT " For more details, as always, the button is your friend!" follow these tips carefully and you should be able to do it.
@Mo_TravelleerX My experience today caused me to revisit this thread. Whenever I submit my end-of-month data for the @AdamGT Top100 Leaderboards, I also update my Star Tracker on the first day of the new month. Based on a separate longer list I maintain in a spreadsheet, this sometimes results in a newer photo being added to the Star Tracker, and the removal of my #9 or #10 photo. This time around it is a 3-month-old photo that has dislodged a 4-year-old photo. My old #10 photo only grew by 342 views in August (11 views per day), while this new photo increased its views by 71,572 views in the same month (2,386 per day). As you can see from my chart below, it is growing at a faster rate than all my other photos on the Star Tracker and will likely leapfrog over #9, #8, and #7 by the end of September.
