Petha- The speciality sweet of Agra- India

Hi fellow local guides, I just returned from my visit to Agra- The land of the Taj Mahal.Apart from the TajMahal, Agra is famous for The Petha-, a sweet.prepared from Ash-gourd and sugar. It is deliciously refreshing. There are a varieties of Petha- available.I attach a picture of the Petha I got from The Famous Pancchi Petha shop.Apart from the White Petha, there is strawberry petha ,Pan Petha among others. Be aware that there are a lot of fake shops selling the sweet.

How did you identify an authentic shop?

There are many shops with the same name.I could make out the original shop when I asked the local families,also the original Petha shop has a ISO certification and was located in the Main city street, not the tourist areas.
