On the 31st of December 2017, we set out on a small adventure. Our goal was to find an activity to finish the best year ever (2017) while also being an epic start to 2018. The plan was to spend two days Mountain Biking around Mundaring, explore the area and camp overnight nearby.

Located less than 45 mins from Perth CBD is Mundaring Weir is situated in the Beelu National Park. Apart from supplying the Goldfields with much of its drinking water it is the start of the Biberman Trail and has over 40 km of MTB trails. (The Munda-biddi is 1000km)
The Mountain Bike trails are maintained by the wonderful Kalamunda MTB Collective. The area has many historical sites and some of the most stunning scenery in Australia. Everyone we met was warm and friendly, it was truly an amazing adventure. A great way to start 2018!
To fully enjoy everything the area has to offer, I recommend you spend a few nights either at one of the many hotels or campsites. With prices starting from $11 per night its affordable and fun. It’s the perfect getaway for families, romantic couples or MTB enthusiasts.
I would like to thank the following for being awesome firstly my P.I.C. (Partner in crime) a close friend and fellow creator and MTB enthusiast Bryce Taylor.
A huge thank you to the Kalamunda MTB Collective - they’re the amazing community who care for the trails and surrounding wildlife.
