Peradeniya Botanical Gardens of Sri Lanka

Peradeniya botanical gardens known also as the Royal botanical gardens is about 5.5 km west of Kandy bordering Sri Lanka’s longest river Mahaweli. The park spreads over 147 acres (59 ha) and attracts 2 million visitors annually. The easiest way to reach the park from Colombo is the Colombo Kandy intercity train and it takes 2.5 hours to get here.
