Pav Bhaji - Recipe

Pav Bhaji - one of the most loved street food. Though its a street food but its healthy at the same time you know why ? As Bhaji is nothing but a mixer of mashed veggies.

So below is the step by step recipe which I made with some shortcuts to satisfy my craving during this lock down. Hope you would like it .

Ingredients:
For Bhaji: Coriander, 2 tsp Cumin seeds, Red chilly powder, 1.5 tsp Turmeric powder, 2 tsp Ground black pepper, 1.5 tsp Amchur, Β½ tsp Ground ginger, Pav bhaji masala, 1 Lemon, Kasuri methi.

Veggies: 2 Potatoes, 1 Cauli Flower, 200gm Peas, 200gm BottleGuard, 2 Carrots, 2 Onions, 3 Tomatoes and 200gm Paneer.

For Pav: 2 Pavs and Butter.

Instructions :

STEP 1: Roughly cut the veggies and add them to pressure cooker.
STEP 2: Cook them till 2 whistles on a medium flame.
STEP 3: Now open the lid and let the veggies cool for 5-7 mins. You then have to mash these veggies properly.
Quick short cut: Blend them in the mixture for 45 sec. Be cautious you don’t have to make a juice but just a paste.
STEP 4: Take a kadai and add 2 tsp butter into it. Add cumin seeds and then add finely chopped onions into it and saute them well.
STEP 5: Add ginger garlic paste and green chilies into it.
STEP 6: Add finely chopped tomatoes into it and saute them well as well.
STEP 7: Now add mashed veggies into it and saute for a minute. You can also add a pinch of red food colour into it.
STEP 8: Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, ground black pepper, amchur, 2tsp butter and pav bhaji masala into it. Saute them for a minute, make sure the spices are cooked well.
STEP 9: Now add kasuri methi and finely chopped coriander leaves into it.
Note: If you feel your Bhaji is a little thick, you can also add 1/2 cup of water into it.
Step 10: Add some grated paneer over it to give a more yummy taste.

Your Bhaji is now ready.

For Pav:

Slit 2 pavs in centre and roast with butter in a pan. Roast both sides of pav till they turn slightly warm.

Your pav Bhaji is now ready to serve  .

I loved the presentation which is unique, though it will look more impressive if you could use lrger-sized images.

Although it is one of the most popular street-food we prefer making it at home.
