Patwa Haveli Mansion - A Showcase of Rajasthani Art

Havelis are medieval mansions in India with historical and architectural significance.

In the Rajasthan area of India, the mansions are found in abundant numbers as a testimony of the wealth and status of their owners.

Not just the walls and floor, the ceiling too are a sight to behold.

The Haveli Mansions typically have a narrow entrance to limit the number of people entering at a time.

The arches and gateways are all unique and have individual features that distinguish one from another,

Each artwork depicts a certain style of mirrorwork and paintings.

An elaborately decorated living room inside Patwon ki Haveli of Jaisalmer.

A true specimen of the Rajasthani art form, the Patwon Ki Haveli is famous for its exclusive mirror work and fine murals.

The Patwa Haveli is currently divided in to 2 parts among the brothers and each has a separate entrance.

The Patwon ki Haveli mansion is dipped in an enchanting shade of gold.

The Haveli Mansion seemingly reflects the golden sand dunes of Jaisalmer.

The intricacy of its architecture with jharokhas balconies, vivid wall paintings, archways and gateways add to the charm.

Every corner of the mansions is laced with carvings and paintings.

The Jharoka windows help filter out heat entering the building and allow cool air to pass through.

Here’s a view of the Jaisalmer Fort from the cusp-arched window of the Haveli.

The courtyard also provides shade from the sultry afternoon heat.

The exquisite craftsmanship of the palace is like a living museum in itself.

:wheelchair: Accessibility

The Haveli is not accessible for the differently abled.

:tickets: Entrance Ticket

The ticket is INR 100 for the Patwa Haveli Mansion.

:house_with_garden: Where to Stay

I stayed in the Sagar Guest House inside the Jaisalmer Fort.
This place also has a rooftop restaurant with an amazing view of the city, the palace, and the desert.

Beautiful post as usual

I can feel the vibes and beauty of the place by your beautifully captured photos of Patwa Haveli.

Sindh and Rajasthan both are sister provinces where we can see everything very similar. I never had chance to visit Thar Desert, but whenever I will visit, I will surely share photos with you.

Thanks for sharing @TusharSuradkar Fabolous post.

Thank you @KashifMisidia Bhai :+1:

The Thar desert is the same in both countries but divided by political boundaries, hence the art and culture appear similar.

Definitely looking forward to meeting you on either side

Very interesting… dear @TusharSuradkar ,

That is wonderful @TravellerG

It is my dream to live in the Delhi-Rajasthan area for many years to be able to explore the places thoroughly.

Same with the Bengaluru-Mysuru-Madurai region to explore the many temples and historical and natural sites out there.

Yes, the artifacts look similar because the Haveli mansion is divided among brothers in modern times and they operate separate museums for which there is a separate entrance and ticket, but the building or structure is one.

Thank you, @TusharSuradkar ji, another captivating post along with these wonderful photos. It looks the palace is well maintained. The shine in photos #7,8 and 9 are attractive, perhaps it’s due to regular polishing?
