My name is Maryna, and I currently live in Sacramento, California. I’m an active Local Guide, currently Level 7, very close to Level 8. I’ve been contributing for several years, writing reviews and adding photos across many places around the world.
I truly enjoy helping people through Google Maps and being part of this global community. I’m passionate about sharing experiences and making the platform more helpful.
I’ve never received any rewards, perks, or invitations yet — and I’d love to know if there are any opportunities available for someone like me.
Are there any active reward programs for contributors in the U.S.?
Is it possible to collaborate, monetize, or be more engaged with the program?
I would be happy to participate in events, test products, receive perks, or support Google as an active content creator.

The Google Local Guides program occasionally offers rewards and opportunities to contributors. However, these rewards are usually based on specific periods and criteria. For example, highly active contributors may have the chance to join events like Connect Live, which offer meaningful opportunities to engage more deeply with the community and gain new experiences.
By contributing on Google Maps, you also help increase the visibility of local businesses and support the needs of your community — which indirectly contributes to the local economy as well.
It’s great that you’re becoming more active on Connect. Sharing your experiences, tips, and suggestions can both help others and increase your own visibility.

In terms of rewards, it’s a bit of a random game so it’s really down to one’s luck to get some of the freebies (pin badges, stickers etc). Monetization is not something we would encourage because it blurs the line between an honest review vs a paid for review, and the latter would get you banned from the program. If you’re thinking about getting gift cards by participating in user research surveys, that’s a separate thing and you can register your interest with Google and they will get in touch if you meet their criteria.
