Part -1 - World Vegetarian Day and Vegetarian Awareness Month & Idli - A veg Food - TravellerG

Ohh… I see…

Here in South India, we have two Vegetarian Thali…

North Indian & South Indian…

The main difference is for typical South Indian Thali, Chapati /Poori will not be served…

Thus…

The following photo is a “North Indian King’s Thali” which starts with Chapati…

Hope you will like this… dear @AnubhaBangia

Thanks for your kind response and feedback… Sorry for being late… You knew the reason,

Thanks

Extremely Happy that you enjoyed the post…

Yes, though in India, most of the vegetarians don’t use egg… Otherwise Globally, egg, milk etc. are included under vegetarian…

“… Idli Sambhar is one of my favourite foods in South Indian vegetarian food…”

At our home too, Idli Sambar are prepared for more than 300 days a year…

Yes, “the believes” you have mentioned are very correct… :handshake: :rose:

Most welcome, dear @Gurukrishnapriya ,

Being a steamed food, Idli is an ideal food… As rightly mentioned by you, when combined with chutney and Sambar, Idli is a very well balanced food.

Thanks for your kind compliments…

“… The banner photo caught my attention for its ‘Satvik’ appeal. …”

Thanks to Canva for the cover photo… Of course, I did my humble contribution… It is truly ‘Satvik’ - thanks for your kind words.

“… I like Idli dipped in Sambar…”

To be frank with you, we prepare separate Sambar for “Dipped Idli” (as it is called) - this combination has a different taste…

I need to thank our team member @AnubhaBangia in her post - Here

for prompting me for this post - happy that the post was informative.

Again, being a typical Keralite, I love to eat with my hands - you know, I love FULLY mixing/crushing Idli with coconut Chutney and having it with fingers… he… he… he… (kindly try chutney without spoon, please)… It will taste much better…

I thank you very much for your kind compliments, dear @TusharSuradkar

Hello, very dear @RoshanPatel ,

“… Wow Now it’s very much famous in world…”

Yes, of course… WHO is marketing Idli… :+1:

“… Authentic taste only in South India…”

Must be the “Batter” is the main culprit… Then the Sambar & Chutney… Right…

Hope, Part 2, I shall try to explain the details to prepare “Soft Idlis” - kindly try at home (the tips are from my wife - she has more than 35 years experience).

“… AGM at our Chennai…”

Yes, I have seen your photos from Chennai… :+1: :+1: :+1:

Thanks, dear…

Of course, Idli is one of the most pious food even when you are weak… Its fiber content keep you ‘full’ for longer duration without any harm to your digestive tract…

Thanks for your kind words and valuable comments.

@TravellerG sir

I did not mean that. Due to Grametical mistake, the meaning might have been different. I apologize for my bad English.

Thank you for sharing all these delicious plates Sir @TravellerG . I have been a big fan of vegetarian and vegan dishes although I’m still consuming many other things. As I have mentioned on previous similar posts, I love veggie (fresh and cooked) as well as other vegetarian dishes famous in Indonesia like tempe (soy bean cake) and tofu.

Whan I was in Tokyo, I tried a vegetarian dish but it has eggs on it.

But most of the time, I love tofu. Especially deep fried ones!
