Paddys River Falls in NSW, Australia

I love photography so Im always taking photos of everything, wherever I am, even if it isnt particularly scenic.

I like to visit places that arent too touristy, if that even makes sense. I was on a break and I was based in a small Victorian town called Corryong.

On an interstate trip to the Snowy Mountains region one of the most scenic spots I visited was a cascade waterfall! If you go during the wetter months, you can be sure to get the complete ‘waterfall experience’ with the roar of the water and the accompanying spray, as opposed to a lesser flow in the drier/summer months.

Paddy’s River Falls is situated around 15 km south from the town of Tumbarumba in NSW. The falls are approx 18 metres in height with the water flowing over the drop which then continues down to the Paddy’s River. There is a public toilet, picnic facilities and a bit of seating available. From the carpark there is a 150 metre staired track to reach the bottom of the falls. When I visited there was wheelchair access being restored. There is visible evidence of last year’s bush fire that went through the region early last year. Sadly the falls area was heavily impacted by the bush fires last summer, with the toilet block and picnic facilities badly damaged and in part, destroyed. Restoration works has rendered much of the area slippery if there has been rain. There were work vehicles and a digger on site.

Watch your step everywhere. Especially near the water its a bit slippery on the rocks and there is also a bit of mud around if the water flow is fast. It helps to have good hiking boots or water resistant footwear and you can steady yourself on nearby rocks just to keep your footing. The falls has wheelchair accessibility.

Totally worth the visit and you can get in right behind the falls too! If you’re taking photos, be mindful of your phone or any equipment up closer to the water. You wouldnt want it to get wet or suffer damage. The place is completely ‘Instaworthy’

Hello @Connectwidme thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

@Teana_K thank you for sharing the image and narration about Paddy’s River Falls. I am excited to know they have wheelchair access for PwDs. It sounds like an all inclusive destination.

Hi @EmekaUlor yes they do! I posted two photos of the wheelchair signage to the place itself :slightly_smiling_face:
