Hello everyone, how are you? ![]()
Today I wanted to tell you about our first family experience visiting Amish Country in Pennsylvania
, specifically our time at an Amish farm. I’m sure some of you have already read a post of mine about some of the things I liked on my quick trip to Amish Country, specifically in Lancaster County. On our second day of the trip, we decided to go to an Amish farm early and take a tour. Because it was close to our accommodation, we opted for Old Windmill Farm
(4.9 stars and 1,342 reviews), which was on the list I had created on Google Maps before the trip (link attached).

This farm is located in Ronks, a township in Lancaster known for its cornfields (other popular townships in the area include Bird-in-Hand and Soudersburg). In these areas, you breathe nature and tradition
. You truly disconnect from the daily routine and immerse yourself in their customs, such as their clothing, collective work, the use of traditional agricultural tools, and their lifestyle in general.

Returning to our day at the farm, we were cordially greeted upon arrival and explained the different packages or tours
. We took the most experiential one, which lasts an hour and allows you to feed all the farm animals, milk cows, etc. Most families opt for the tour because the children can spend quality time with the different animals, including horses, cows, pigs, goats, rabbits, and chicks, which they can feed and pet. So much learning! ![]()
While waiting for the tour to begin, you can also spend time in the farm facilities. There are multiple benches to rest, and children can feed the baby goats at the entrance. I was happy because there was a pretzel truck, and I was finally able to try the super-famous soft pretzels. What a delight! You can taste a certain reminiscence of traditional pretzels, but I’d say they’re something very different, delicious, and they pair perfectly with mustard. If you ever visit this area, be sure to try them; you won’t regret it!
