Who loves orchid here?
This wonderful flower has long been stealing my attention (and my heart), as well as many, for its unique appearance, mysterious aura, and purple shades. I believe many of us have been collecting them at home or enjoying them in designated parks and forests.
We just found out about Orchid Forest Cikole when we decided to browse around Lembang, West Java, Indonesia. Cikole itself has been long been known as a cool pine forest with bike tracks, particularly for downhiller lovers. That’s the reason why, in the first place, we stopped by here after enjoying Maribaya, Lembang. So when we drove up from Cikole gate, around 2-hour drive from Bandung, we asked the officers in charge what attractions were available up there. He told us about the Orchid Forest which was just recently opened and that it has a beautiful picnic spot with so many Instagramable spots. Sounds very interesting, right? Without further due, we paid the tickets and off we went up, drove further up to the Orchid Forest.
It is truly a beautiful and peaceful place.
Through Jalan Raya Tangkuban Perahu or the the main road to Lembang, the trip might be a bit tricky due to traffic. But beautiful surroundings, fantastic view, cool fresh air, and wonderful orchid forest is waiting so it worths the trip.
The ticket is only Rp 30.000,- per person (adult and kids I guess) and Rp 30.000,- for car parking. I believe it its cheaper for motorcycle. Since the forest is located slightly up in the hill, we still have to drive for about 20 minutes up from the gate.
It has lovely collection of orchids, including the rare ones, in its Orchid House. You can also find restaurant, food court, picnic area and tree houses here. In addition to that, kids can enjoy Orchid Castle (choices of games and mini amusement park for kids with additional fee) and Rabbit Forest, where kids can feed the rabbits and see their cute homes in colors. Those who love natural landscapes, outdoors activities as well as photography will definitely enjoy this place.
This place is open at 9 AM to 6 PM.
