The Khasi Tribe of Meghalaya or Northeast India is beautiful tribe. They have very well preserved their culture adpating with modern culture. The Mawphlang Sacred Forest is so well preserved which boast with rich history and culture. One of the peaceful forest I have ever been to.
The Khasi Tribe is recognised to be a Matrilineal Society which sets itself apart from the other tribe.
It is believed that we cannot take anything away from the Sacred Forest. Meaning even a leaf should not be brought to with our selves from the forest. If someone dares to bring any kind of fruit or anything from the forest they doomed with bad luck. Well, thankful for the belief the forest is been preserved and is very clean and it’s it’s peaceful to take stroll in the forest.
It has the famous Rudraksha trees as well. The locals worship nature and thus preserving it. I wish every single human on this earth beleive in the religion of nature and mother earth.
