One day Trip to Lucknow...

Greeting Dear LG friends,

In this post I will tell you about my one-day visit to Lucknow…

From Dibiyapur, I went to Lucknow by a public bus and it took exactly 3 hours to reach Singar Nagar, Lucknow. From there, I travelled for 15 minutes to KD Singh Stadium by Lucknow Metro. It costs only Rs.30 per person. Then I went to Bara Imambara which is 2km from the metro station. I took a share auto for that and finally reached there…

The entire location itself looks like in Bahubali movie. The main entrance is such a majestic construction in which the designs inscribed in the wall is that beauty. This entrance is common for Bada Imambara, Bouli and the Asfi Mosque. But they won’t allow to go inside the Asfi Mosque. Here you can get a common ticket costs Rs50 for Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara and Picture Gallery.

Bhool Bhulaiya is a section of Bara Imambara and is also known as labyrinth. At the centre of the Hall, the Architect Kifayatullah was buried. There are 1000s of windows in the entire building. The building has 3 section of roof. From the ground floor there is only 2 ways to go to the roof. But from the 2 ways, it is said that there is about 1024 ways to go to the roof. 2 segment of the roofs are interconnected by steps.

I recommend everyone to take a guide while going to the roof. Because, there is more chance to forget your way that you have arrived. It gave me a very wonderful experience because I and my friend went together to the roof and we found very hard to reach ground floor. But only thing we have to understand is that the entire building is of 3 segments and you have to cross the segment one by one. We cannot bypass any of the sections. There is an underground path at the mid of the building and it is closed now.

On the other side Asfi Mosque is located and is now closed for tourist.

Then I went to Bouli, which is located near to the Bhool Bhulaiya. It is just a water storage area or a well. It also a Indo-Mughal architect building. The centre view of the building looks awesome…

Then I went to Chota Imambara. It is located 0.5km from Bara Imambara. I went there using share auto and it took Rs20 per person. Chota Imambara is also a wonderful building with a reflection pool in front of the the main building. The designs inscribed in the main building is very beautiful with only black and white colour. I noticed that this location is not properly maintained properly as compared to Bara Imambara. You can even see a Small Tajmahal (Zeenat Asiya) here…

Shahi Hamam is located in front of Chota Imambara and it contain 2 bath tub. Here also the garden is maintained properly but the building is not properly maintained.

After visiting Chota Imambara, I started walking towards the picture gallery, where the picture of legend picture is preserved. I went there by walking and in front of that there is a big pond and near to that there is a Husainabad clock tower. The entire location was awesome.

After visiting all those locations in the morning half, I went for lunch at the Hotel Tunday Kababi. I will explain my experience in different post.

Afternoon, I went to the Lucknow Residency. It is an ancient British residency complex in Lucknow. It has a combination of Banquet hall, Treasure Building, Dr. Fayrer’s House, Begum Kothi etc. The location is well maintained by Archaeological department. It was constructed in 1800s. The entry ticket cost is Rs25(offline) and Rs20(online). A Museum is also located here, where you can know about the Lucknow Residency…

Finally, I went to Sadat Ali Khan Tomb. It is located near to KD Singh Metro Station. The tomb is well constructed and is one of the beautiful building. The entry is free and the building is not properly maintained. Inside the tomb it is full of dust and soil. Near to that Mushir Zadi tomb is also located. Both are almost similar in look…
