Ondel-Ondel are dolls part of Betawi culture. Ondel-ondel made by bamboo, with tall 2.5meters, usually they made a pair of them. Both Male and Female.
Ondel-ondel with Male character, used to have red color in his face, little bit moustache. And the Female Charater, have white face, pretty eyelashes and blushed on cheek.
They both have some thin spear decorated as hairs, and wear Betawi Traditional Clothes.
Now, we could see their dance performers during big celebration, such as Jakarta Events or even Betawi weddings. But if you lucky, you find them on streets where they are dance and ask for donation.
So cute if we found them together is street.
But little bit jealous. Ondel-Ondel has Soulmates, why Don’t You?

They are cutee mbaaa @Ddimitra asal jangan lama - lama liatinnyaa hahaha. Nanti jadi serem. But I love the intricate designs they have in ondel - ondel. I usually buy the miniatures of ondel - ondel for gifts. My friends love it!

@Ddimitra I was just reading up on this just now, and apparently in olden times, they used to be depicted as protective spirits and the “man” ondel used to have scary teeth. In modernized Indonesia, they have been given a modern makeover.
I have not seen this in person before. But someday I will.
