Hi!
As an enthusiastic fan of movies and TV shows sometimes I like to know places who were used as a filming locations. So, I visited a town in Richmond Vancouver , who was the principal set for the serie “Once Upon A Time”. Steveston Village is a small fishing community set up about 30’ to center Vancouver. When the series filmed in this place the whole town changed, the most important shops changed their names for those in the tv show, even the town name, from Steveston to “Storybrook”, actors and the crew were there to shoot the entire day and more than once at night some episode. Sadly when I was there they never filmed but I liked to be there in the same places that I had seen on my TV for years.
The town of Steveston looks so cute! Thank you for sharing your post with us. What impressed you the most? Have you visited other filming locations?
A few weeks ago, I traveled to Malta. I went to a few places where my favorite TV series ‘Game of Thrones’ was filmed. I felt in love with the country. I was walking through the cities and imagining I was inside the movie.
Great pics @InaS I liked GOT very much! I enjoyed being in Steveston, I think the magic of Once Upon A Time lives there. I’m a big fan of all about filming stuff. In Los Ángeles I saw some tv shows shooting, like Castle, NCISLA, The Rookie, Scandal, Modern Family, on the streets. I went to a tapping of The Big Bang Theory (twice) & Two & A Half Men.
Long times ago I visited Juliette - GA. The town is in actually just the set of a movie, and you can eat the green fried tomatoes at the Whistle shop cafe
It was in the Pre-digital era, so I don’t have photos, but it was quite funny to walk on a place that you have seen in a movie
Modern family is another favorite series of mine @SilvyC . You were lucky to see so many TV shows shooting. Thank you for your photo and your reply :).
Thank you @ErmesT . Fried green tomatoes served hot, interesting, how were they? Do the tomatoes taste like pickled? I checked a few photos on Google Maps of the place and I loved it.
Fried green tomatoes (at the whistle stop cafe) is a 1991 movie, nominated for two Oscar prize @InaS
It is a film against violence and discrimination
On the movie, the place is in Alabama, while the real location is in Georgia.
“The secret of life? The secret’s in the sauce” is the last sentence that close the movie, but I will not tell you why .-)
I didn’t tasted the tomatoes. It was July 17, 1996. The Olympic flame was minutes behind me so I had to run, (they was closing the road) reaching Atlanta airport to fly back to home
I guess I will have to watch the movie and understand the last sentence of it @ermest. That’s understandable you had to hurry to catch your flight. So you have a reason to go back and try the famous green fried tomatoes.
