🛕 Om Shri Kshetra Kanifnath Gad, Bopgaon (Pune)

:hindu_temple: Om Shri Kshetra Kanifnath Gad, Bopgaon (Pune)

Located just 22 km from Swargate, Pune, this peaceful and scenic hilltop shrine — Om Shri Kshetra Kanifnath Gad — is dedicated to the great saint Shri Kanifnath Maharaj from the Navnath Sampradaya.

:triangular_flag: At the entrance, we see a grand arch with the words “Om Shri Kshetra Kanifnath Gad, Bopgaon.”

:folded_hands: Inside the main temple, there is a special narrow passage for men to take darshan of Shri Kanifnath Maharaj.

I didn’t go inside that section, but I explored and experienced the beautiful outer temple area.

:herb: The entire fort area is extremely clean, calm, and filled with natural beauty.

From the top, you get a stunning panoramic view of the Pune region.

It’s an ideal place for a short trip or a peaceful spiritual visit.

Fabulous post, dear @Bansodesomnath :+1:

Kanifnath has been our favorite place to visit for the past 20 years, and also nice to see the new developments and decorations.

15 years ago, there was no road to the top, and we had to park vehicles at the base and take the staircase.

Did you also try to enter the narrow tunnel that leads to the Samadhi Sthal?
It is an adventure.

Thank you very much for publishing this.

:om: Nath Sampradaya — Brief History and Spread

The Nath Sampradaya is an ancient Shaivite Yoga tradition, believed to have originated from Lord Shiva (Adinath) himself — the first Nath. The divine knowledge of Yoga was passed from Lord Shiva (Adinath) to Machchhindranath and then to his chief disciple Gorakhnath who organized and spread the Nath tradition widely. Through this sacred guru–disciple lineage, the Nine Nath Gurus (Navnath) emerged, each representing great yogic wisdom and divine power.

:small_blue_diamond: The Nine Nath Gurus (Navnath):

:one: Machchhindranath

:two: Gorakhnath

:three: Jalindranath

:four: Kanifnath

:five: Gahininath

:six: Bhartarinath

:seven: Revananath

:eight: Charpatinath

:nine: Naganath

:trident_emblem: Essence

The Nath Sampradaya represents the union of Shiva consciousness, Yoga discipline, and Guru’s power. It continues to thrive across Maharashtra, Nepal, and North India, spreading the timeless path of Yoga, Self-realization, and Liberation (Moksha).
