Okpe is my village located in Akoko Edo local government area of Edo State South South Nigeria, a linear settlement along the Federal Highway connecting Ondo and Edo state. We are of the Okpameri district within Edo North, previously known as the Kukuruku Hills region. Talking about hills, Okpe is bound round about by hills which I believe are products of volcanic eruptions that formed this wonderful scenario and beauty to behold.
We are an agrarian community and we host numerous visitor’s who have made Okpe their home, majorly we are known for yam, cassava, palm produce and a whole other varieties of cash crops.
As a #googlelocalguide, I’m inviting you to our new yam festival that holds on predetermined date to be announced by the King (OloOkpe of Okpe), the anticlimax is where he comes out in his royal regalia to dance to folk songs with his chiefs who help manage the kingdom.
- Okpe is home for all, we have cottage hotels and accommodation within and standard hotels at Igarra the local government headquarters. Come to Okpe and experience nature, we have cold spring and breath taking landscape.
