Hi there- I’m Jillian
I reside outside of NYC in the suburbs just north of the GWB but often come in for events, dinner and shows (and all sorts of other things).
Would any other Local NYC Guides like to get together in the upcoming months?
NYC is beautiful- lets take advantage!
Hello @Jillianhenthorn and welcome to Connect. Your post may be better suited under the meet ups category.
Hi @TerryPG in the new connect, the meet up category is actually reserved for posts that contains actual meet ups, with time and date. In this case, the Introduce yourself tag might be the closest one, but it’s all good for now. We’re all still learning and exploring the new Connect
Hi @Jillianhenthorn it can be a bit challenging to find others in your area without already knowing Local Guides in the area.
One thing you can do right now is to browse the upcoming meet ups in the United States.

As of now, there’s currently there’s only one meet up coming soon being hosted by @KarenVChin and @ErmesT . It’s a virtual meet up so technically everyone around the world can join, but it could also be a good chance to learn about how the new Connect works, and maybe shows your interest that you want to do a meet up in NYC area.
In the future, you can also try hosting your own meet up and invite others to join! Below is a good tutorial on how to host your own meet up

That’s what I was trying to explain to the new member.
Hi @iyudhi
Thank you for the detailed information!
I guess I was taking a slower approach to see if it would really be of interest before putting it all together if that makes sense.
Virtual may be the best first step!
Cheers,
Jill
@Jillianhenthorn Slow is fine! There’s always a chance someone based in NYC will look at this post and chime in.
FYI I’ve added another tag to this post - Introduce-Yourself hoping to increase visibility.
It might also be good to browse around a bit in the community guidelines section to help you get started
