Hi Local Guides on this article i want to talk about the contributions called check the facts. I hope this one will be seen by many new local guides to this kind of contribution.
I want to share my experience
I’m starting with the basics steps:
Step 1: Open the google maps app.
Step 2: Tap contribute, to the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Tap contribute now.
Step 4: Scroll down until you find the special icon.
Now “plus circle” icons should appear near your area. I recommend you look up the category menu,you will notice 2 menus. One to categorise each kind of listing and another to choose exactly what facts you want to verifly. I suggest you start with the “fact category” menu first. Now it’s important you have the knowledge of any contribution you make, it’s counted as high quality contribution. I insist of having this rule to your mind while checking the facts.
Note after checking a fact,a small message appears at the bottom of your screen in case you want to undo your choice.
Step 5: Check each category you wish to contribute.
Step 6: Start zooming in and out until the maps is refreshed,so the new icons are within the categories you choosed.
Step 7: Tap the “plus circle” icons and start checking the facts.
I don’t want to analyze anything for this task (3 facts checked) for obvious reasons.

BTW, as on your title you mentioned the Fact Finder badge, I would like to point out that checking the Fact is only one of the steps required for that badge.

Hi @ErmesT i tried to post like…3-4 times the same post…i didnt know that every time a spam filter would take them down or put them in queue. but a connect moderator is it correct to say (passed thme through)? so thats why the identical post is writen as comment…i failed to delete them…
If a post has been caught by the filter, rewriting the post is useless, as it will be caught again
Moderators are patrolling the quarantine to release the good post so, if your post has been rejected, don’t post it again. Simply tag a moderator (check here and here).
