These days my reading hobby has really improved while travellings and some other out door activities are on hold. You could be transported far away even while home. That I have done many times these days while home and it can be done through reading.There are series of Novels to be read. You have crossing by Daniel Steel,the 3 evangelist by Fred Vargas(its not a religious book dont panic). But really his week I read
Desert flower by Waris Dirie.
This is a true life story of an African girl from Somalia. Somalia is a coastal nation located at the horn of Africa. Waris grew up in the desert as nomad and well exposed to the rich african heritage and culture. Exposed to nature and wild life,she lived with her parents on their livestock farm. It wasn’t the easiest place or conditions to live in,but they were all happy and free and cherished the family life and nature and existence as it were. Waris was no ordinary girl and that is the real crust of the story of her life. How she rose up from being the little nomad girl looking for pastures for their goats and camel etc to being a Model in New York and furthermore to be a special Ambassador for UN to fight female genital mutilation FGM which had suffered herself as a little girl.
Her very interesting childhood story and how she made her journey all the way from the desert through to Mogadishu the capital of the country is spectacular and more so all the way to London as a little house help is better read and not told. Its surely is worth reading.
