No Longer Able to Check-in to Locations on iPhone

Hi,

For some months now I have been unable to check-in to places on my iPhone (iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16.5.1). When I click on a location in Google Maps, the information appears, but I am not longer asked if I am there now. I have not been able to get this work no matter what settings I have changed. This used to work until recently.

Is this a known issue for iPhone? I am missing out on checking in at many places.

Update Google maps or install latest version of google maps.

HI @Jimkowal ! It seems that this function has been removed (perhaps momentarily or perhaps forever) and I think due to the fact that new phones have much more efficient localization properties, many businesses have their wifi available for their customers and all this makes it superfluous and not necessary interaction with the user to confirm the position.
