No follow button on my profile

Hey @kookkiejam . If people can’t see your “Follow” button on Google Maps despite being a Local Guide.

Check your Profile Visibility. Go to your profile in the Google Maps app, tap your picture/initial, find “Profile visibility” in settings, and set it to “Public.”

Also ensure that you confirm settings. Ensure no privacy restrictions are hiding your activity or follow option.

If it still doesn’t working. Contact Google Maps support for help if it’s public but the button’s still missing.

Your Local Guide level doesn’t automatically enable this—it’s tied to visibility settings.

Go to your Google Account settings (not just Google Maps) to ensure your overall profile visibility is set to public. You can access this via:
Open a web browser and go to myaccount.google.com.

Navigate to “People & sharing” > “Contacts” or “Visibility settings.”

Ensure your profile is set to “Anyone can see my profile” or similar, and that social features (like following) are enabled.

In the Google Maps app, tap your profile picture > “Settings” > “Personal info & privacy” to check for any additional restrictions.

Also send your google maps profile link let me check from my end if the follow button is showing

It is already set @kookkiejam . Whenever someone follows you, it will appear there.

I still don’t think it’s fixed, I don’t see an option to follow, not can I see who you follow, but I’ve never seen a public profile before cannot be followed.

In fact this is exactly a feature I’ve seen many people wish existed, including myself.

If you manage to get an answer on this please leave a note in this thread!
