Wow what a creative banner @Kumaarsantosh and I’m so happy, in fact excited that you love the new Connect badge and that the Community’s reception to it has been so overwhelmingly positive. It’s this that makes all the work, time and effort that went on behind the scenes and not only by myself but also by the Local Guides Team and @AdrianLunsong and @katydarhel, so worthwhile.
You are so right! While there are many thousands of Local Guides from all corners of the world that have agreed to participate, jointly sharing their Google Maps contributions and achievements, and while potentially there was a maximum of 200 recipients of this special badge, only 87 made it onto the winners list. In my view, another extraordinary fact is that one of the recipients, @AnuradhaP was awarded this special badge for having only made one single fact check in 2024!! Now that’s extraordinary. So how easy was that
