Newform Wayanad: Where Physical Access is 5-Star, but Emotional Access is 1-Star 😔

Stepping into Newform Arabian Restaurant in Kakkavayal, Wayanad, felt like discovering a little upscale oasis! :palm_tree: After a long day of exploring beautiful Kerala, this spot was the perfect treat for our family, covering three generations from kids to elders. It’s definitely designed as a destination—it’s not just a restaurant but also features rooms, a boutique, and even a banquet hall. Talk about a complete vacation package! :star_struck:

We absolutely loved the ambiance; it’s well-designed, thoughtfully presented, and has a wonderful showcase of specialty dishes right by the road-view seating. The mix of Arabian and Kerala cuisines on offer was fantastic, catering perfectly to everyone in our group. Everything we ordered was cooked fresh, served piping hot, and bursting with flavor!

The place is also incredibly traveler-friendly. It’s wheelchair accessible (a huge plus! :wheelchair_symbol:), the washrooms are spotless, and there is ample, free parking available, making it super convenient for a family stopover.

Now, for the one little snag: we ordered the Kerala-style Meen (Fish) Pollichathu, and unfortunately, it was quite overcooked. While we understand things can happen in a busy kitchen, the response was truly disappointing. We raised the concern with both the server and the counter in-charge, but received no acknowledgment or apology—not even a simple “sorry.” We had to discard the dish, which was a genuine waste of a hefty ₹1300 and left a bit of a sour taste in an otherwise perfect meal.

Overall, the atmosphere and the majority of the food were a solid 5-star experience, but the service in handling this issue was definitely a 1-star moment. We hope the management addresses this feedback, as this venue has huge potential!

Fabulous place in Wayanad and nicely covered, dear @MathanVibranarayan :+1:
Though I am still not convinced by the note ‘.. will not happen next time’ …?
At my cost?

Great ambience and a very unique way to show the menu. But very disappointed to see the hotel’s response to the overcooked dish. Chefs are humans and mistakes do happen but if not acknowledged properly it really prevents us from visiting the place again, even though the positive response from the owner on the review seems proactive measure at best. The photos are amazing. Thanks for sharing brother @MathanVibranarayan

It’s important to talk about both physical access and emotional access, and your perspective really highlights the nuance that maps alone can’t capture.

Wishing you peace and deeper connections wherever your journey takes you. :folded_hands::sparkles:

Thanks for your kind words, @TusharSuradkar sir! I appreciate you noticing the ambiguity. You raise a very fair point about the note—I certainly hope “will not happen next time” means they improve service on their side, not at the customer’s expense! Thanks for pushing for clarity.

Hello @Ssiddharth2000 brother! I appreciate your thoughtful take. You hit the nail on the head—it’s the service recovery that matters most. I agree; while the owner’s response is a good step, it doesn’t quite fix the on-the-spot experience. Thanks for validating that feeling and complimenting the visuals! :handshake:
