Unlike Monthly Mail from Google Maps about our contribution in the previous month, now Google Maps has an update on our previous week’s contributions & updates on badges.
To get Weekly Contribution Email, please check your email preferences.
In the weekly Contribution Mail, you can see how many photos, reviews & other contributions you added in the previous week. A level bar can be also seen with how many points are there to get to the next level.
Mail contains suggestions to add in more details to our review. You can add in accessibility , sustainability & Inclusivity in your reviews to make your review detailed.
If you added a detailed review of a place in the previous week, mail will suggest you answer some questions you reviewed.
Now our contribution done in the previous week has been notified to us & can be updated with valuable information.
Not only we can add review previous contributions we had but also track on contributions on each weeks. I think this Weekly Contribution Review mail is much needed to get track of our contribution or update it.
Above mentioned “updates on your contributions” depends on what contributions we made in the previous week. If you got any different suggestions on your previous contributions, comment down below.
I haven’t seen this recent innovation @Rahul001. Maybe in my earlier years there were some regular prompts such as 1 week streak or 2 week streak, but not this detailed email.
Try to check your recent mail from Local guide program @tony_b . Unlike the monthly mail, this weekly review of our contribution is same as regular view count mail we got.
Yesterday, I already received the second weekly contribution mail. Also somebody else reported it last week.
I found interesting after add a rating without any review text or only photos, the weekly mail contained links directly pointing to those reviews where I could enter the text. The mail serves as a good reminder, in case you tend to give a rating first leaving the rest of the review for a more quiet day, which bears the risk to forget about it.
I don’t see this option in my email preferences. So my question is, is this feature available worldwide or only in certain regions? Or is it only available for certain types of contributions?
Today, I received that mail for the third time, but it is not unusual for Google rolling out new functions not at the same time for all regions.
Last week, the total view count got stuck for exactly 7 days for some (all?) of us. To me this indicates some lack of resources, which possibly slowed down this roll-out too … just guessing
There is no new special option, only the generic one to receive mails or not. I got it automatically, like I did in the past for the monthly and yearly results.
Yes, I’m seeing the emails now, and it is a definite prompt to change how we contribute. In many cases I just drive by and take photos of a place, but I don’t write a review because I didn’t actually go indoors and visit as a customer. Now this new email is asking me for more:

Photos are great. Would you also like to leave a review?
What else can you share about the place you added?
There may be a few instances where I could’ve done a review, but never thought of it. I’ll try to do those if the weekly prompts point me to them.
