The New Market Clock Tower is place of attraction situated at the New Market, Kolkata. Earlier it was known as Sir Stuart Hogg Market or simply Hogg Market. It was established in 1874, the market is situated on Lindsay Street in the Dharmatala area and is known for its Victorian Gothic architecture. If you visit this place you will still find the board mentioned the name as Hogg Market.
The clock tower, which was moved from Huddersfield and placed at the market’s southern end, dates back to the 1930s.
Last week, when I visited this place for Christmas shopping, this historical clock tower caught my attention, and it looked so beautiful, so I took some pictures. It was difficult to take pictures as it was nighttime, but I have somehow done it.
Superb shot @Shaunak
I think I saw this clock tower in the photos by other contributors when you shared the banner photo for the camera shop and was going to ask you about it
Thanks for sharing a special post. Another reason for me to visit Kolkata.
