I just noticed a new and potentially life-saving feature on Google Maps — storm alerts! Google Maps is now providing real-time storm warnings and alerts directly on the map interface. This is a huge step forward for safety and preparedness, especially in areas prone to sudden weather changes. See Here

You’ll see notifications for storms, cyclones, heavy rain, and other severe weather events — complete with projected paths and safety tips. This helps users plan safer routes or even delay travel if needed.
I think this is an amazing feature, especially for travelers and local communities. Kudos to the Maps team for continuing to make the app more useful and timely!

If there is an active emergency in your current map view, you may receive an alert on Google Maps with updates and safety information about the event.
