New Feature on Google Maps: πŸŒ€ Storm Alerts!

Hey Local Guides!

I just noticed a new and potentially life-saving feature on Google Maps β€” storm alerts! Google Maps is now providing real-time storm warnings and alerts directly on the map interface. This is a huge step forward for safety and preparedness, especially in areas prone to sudden weather changes. See Here
Gujarat Strom Alert Link

You’ll see notifications for storms, cyclones, heavy rain, and other severe weather events β€” complete with projected paths and safety tips. This helps users plan safer routes or even delay travel if needed.

I think this is an amazing feature, especially for travelers and local communities. Kudos to the Maps team for continuing to make the app more useful and timely!

Have you seen this feature in action yet? Let me know what you think!

It is not a new update @Aravindchaudhari
If there is an active emergency in your current map view, you may receive an alert on Google Maps with updates and safety information about the event.

Hi @Aravindchaudhari,

I’m removing the β€œIn the news” tag from your topic as it is not used correctly in this case. The tag should be used if you have your story about your Local Guides or Google Maps achievements featured in any news outlets, local or online.

Using the right tags on your topics makes it a breeze for other Local Guides to find what they’re looking for in the community.
