New contributions listed in our LG profile. Did you notice?

Hey all,

Did you realised that 2 new contributions type are now listed along with the common 12 other ones under your LG profile?

At least for me, they are visible and they are new ones in the end of my list.

The second new one, Incident reports, is the feedback you give when passing a situation on the road, like a car crashing ahead or construction site among others.

When you report such an incident, you quickly receive a popup like the following:

*translation in the image caption.*

But what about the first new one?
Trip feedback?
Anyone already got it?
Is when you finished a “route” you followed on maps?

Oh iya bener hahaha saya baru menyadarinya @efcxp terimakasih ya atas informasinya :folded_hands:t2:

I noticed three refined experiences in Google Maps- @efcxp

Send Feedback- A more streamlined feedback experience.

Timeline- A refined version of the existing Timeline experience.

Top Events + Add to Calendar: A useful improvement for discovering events and adding them directly to your calendar.

I just noticed these two new lists; I understand the purpose of the one you mentioned—the incident report—but I haven’t quite grasped the ‘Tip Feedback’ one yet.

Dear @Papel_Mahammud , The Trip feedback contribution includes details we provide on a public transit journey (such as crowdedness, temperature, or wheelchair accessibility) or rate a driving route, whether a suggested route was actually the fastest or most efficient, it helps Maps predict future conditions for other commuters.

Thank you for letting me know about this; yes, I will certainly make this contribution. @Manishhh

Dear @efcxp , thanks for sharing this! I saw it as well, and it’s fantastic to see these new contribution types reflected on our Local Guide profiles. Fingers crossed they start awarding points for them soon.

Great catch, @efcxp. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe a Google Moderator could elaborate on these new contributions. And whether we get any points for these.

@MoniDi ?

I recall providing feedback on delays and crowdedness but they were not reported. @Manishhh could still be right, as older such contributions were not counted.

I don’t recall making any incidents reports lately. I wonder what they are.

Cheers

I checked if this page was updated regarding the 2 new metrics.

No such changes.

But I noticed that the line about Captions had been extended with this: (In photo update). Which is very nice and certainly needed as many LG still struggle with the difference between Captions and Captions!

Super Entdeckung @efcxp.

Yes, I noticed that as well. @efcxp, thank you for sharing the update!

sangat bagus. :+1:

Thanks @efcxp for sharing that - wonderful news

Both are related to using Maps for navigation, I think. The first one is when, during your drive, you confirm that a lane is still closed (or no longer) or the police is still there (or not).

The second one is probably about answering the question you sometimes get after having used navigation “Did we guide you correctly to [your destination]?”

When reading about new counters, I immediately feared having zeros in my stats (which I do not want - hence a few ratings without reviews ), but it seems they take into account at least some past contributions, as the numbers in this screenshot are definitely not from the last few days.

Yes, I have these two new ones listed as well. I rarely use my app, but when I do, I’ve been prompted at the end of the trip to give feedback. Now I see 22 listed there.

My Incident Reports will probably remain at 0, as I don’t have that feature in my app. Strange enough, app behaviour seems to be regional. Last time I travelled to the USA, all my missing features came alive, and my Google Maps app switched from kilometers to miles. When I returned home, it switched back to kilometers, and the ability to report traffic conditions disappeared.

(Funny thing is, my Waze app remained in kilometers on that same USA trip and worked just as it would at home).

New contributions listed in our LG profile. Did you notice? - #3 by shaileno

Hi @Khalil_Jouf

Thanks for sharing! It’s interesting to see how Local Guides contributions are evolving. I’ve also brought your post into the new contributions discussion, hope you’ll check it out!

This type of activity is not new @Khalil_Jouf. I’ve done traffic updates for many years on Waze. Google Maps is only now catching up. One point to note: the penalty for touching your phone while driving is very severe in some countries.
