I want to edit the name of my area on Maps, but when I try to do so, it shows the names of all the places in the area instead of allowing me to edit the area’s name. I need guidance on how to edit the name of my area, Kankar Khera. Kankar Khera on Maps is here.

For local guides,Places of interest like research supermarkets etc are open to us to edit. There are other basic layers of the maps you can’t easily change as local guides. Like locality,area,village etc
When it comes to names of area like what you want to do it’s not allowed. It’s beyond our scope as local guides. This is to avoid errors.
I believe you could do send a feedback to the Google maps support forum community. . The team will decide on it if they get your feedback.
You will also need to attach or link to official documentation supporting the change you are proposing. Copyright-free governmental maps are probably the best proof you can attach.Without such official documentation you might not be able to affect the change of name in you want

As I can see, as per Meerut Nagar Nigam website, this locality name has two spellings i.e. Kanker Kheda and Kankar Kheda 1 and also on available photos, whereas spellings of the Hindi name is correct. Could you clarify the issue or prepare the reply accordingly, before submitting the name change request at Google maps support forum community

Could you please supply any relevant image showing the correct name of this area? Make sure it is on the govt website or any sign board installed by the state govt.
