Nature Photography Day

  • @AdamGT You got a sense of humor Adam, hahaha. It was taken in 2017 so social distancing was not introduced yet. But it looks like it is, right? This village in Kompot province is quite unique, I have not seen many buffaloes in other places so far.*

Hi @bmuu

Thanks for sharing admirable photos of nature.

Perhaps the photography day is confined to North America.

It’s a nice day to remember @MukulR and you have nicely reminded us that the sun in your sunset is the energy behind all the beautiful nature on this planet.

We all look forward to seeing your Nature Photography Day photo and story @Rohan10 .

Hello my friend @TravellerG

From the many posts and many nature photographs that I have seen, I know well that #TeamIndia is a champion team of Local Guides that each and every one appreciates the importance of and provides support to ‘Mother Nature’. It’s great that on behalf of #TeamIndia you have joined us and shared some of #TeamIndia’s amazing nature photos in this one post dedicated to Nature Photography Day.

Your reply to @TravellerG is indeed very true @MukulR , we all need to work hard to save nature and by this, our planet. Your post reminded me of how because of the lockdown during this pandemic the traffic volumes around the world dropped significantly and thus the pollution in the air dropped significantly and this gave our planet a 'time to breathe" so much so that even the Himalayas became visible from many parts of India from where previously they were not visible! This proves that if we can slow our polluting ways then we have a chance to save our planet. The fear is of course, that if after this pandemic lockdown we all revert back to our pre-lockdown bad ways then things will get worse again and possibly much more quickly!

Well if it was taken in 2017 @Sophia_Cambodia then there cannot be any doubt, those buffaloes have a gift, and had a premonition about this pandemic that would come some 3 years later! Either way, your photo definitely makes it look like the buffaloes are practicing social distancing

I am worried and happy both together at the same time during this pandemic @AdamGT . I am worried that people are dying in numbers every day around the world. I am happy that mother nature got a chance to cure herself as you mentioned in your below comments. During this pandemic, dolphins have returned to our coastal areas which people have never thought. Our country air pollution rate has improved from position 4 to 23. And, many things happening inside nature which we cannot see. But this will not continue for long, the human being will come back to Nature with all their cruelty and destructive activities to destroy it. Don’t take it other way please, I feel the nature this way, I feel the pain of nature that she gets from us every minute. Thanks.

It was started by the North American Nature Photography Association as a national event but 10 or so years later enthusiasm for Nature Photography Day has grown worldwide and I say, why shouldn’t it! NANPA encourages people everywhere to enjoy the day by using a camera to explore nature in their backyard, park, or wherever and that’s what this post is all about @TusharSuradkar so I’m so happy that you joined in with your great photo of the vast waters of life, at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, in Kanyakumari.

I hear you @MukulR and yes we should all be extremely worried with this one but we must also have faith in the superior intelligence of mankind. I once read words along the line that 90% of all the scientists that have ever lived in the history are alive today and that to me is staggering! Remember, devastating smallpox which specifically affected humans was eradicated and then there are others like mumps, diphtheria, measles, rubella, bacterial influenza and tetanus which are nearly eradicated! Others like HIV haven’t been eradicated but we’ve managed to improve the quality of life of HIV sufferers. So we may have to live with this COVID-19 for some time and just have to be super careful until a vaccine is discovered! In the meantime we must learn from the good that we’ve seen during this forced lockdown and may just need to give mother nature a regular break as we have currently been forced to so that the dolphins will return to coastal areas which people have never thought, the Himalayas will be visible again from far away places, air pollution rates can improve, major cities like Delhi and Beijing can have clear blue skies, and as you say many things can happen inside nature which we cannot see. It’s up to us!

Absolutely, @AdamGT An idea can start anywhere, and then everyone else can embrace it.

‘Nature Photography Day’ is a nice example.
