Hello Friends. Once again Happy Navratri to all. You all have given so much love to my both Navaratri posts in which I shown a list of the cities which were named on Devi’s Name and one of the city named on Devi’s Name which was Dewas. But today I will tell you about a city which is also named on Devi’s Name but I forgot to mention that city in that list. Yes I am telling about Narmadapuram - The City of Maa Narmada.
Narmadapuram is a city situated on the banks of holy river Maa Narmada on Bhopal Betul National Highway No. 46. It is also the district headquarter of Narmadapuram District. Whole district contains so many Tourist places such as Sethani Ghat, Hoshang Shah Fort, Narmada Herbal Park, Adamgarh Hills, Bandrabhan, Tawa Dam, Satpura Tiger Reserve and the most famous tourist place of all over the world - the hidden gem of Central India Pachmahri.
Today I will tell you about my visit to Narmadapuram.
I visited Narmadapuram on the occasion of Maa Narmada Janmotsav which is a greatest festival for the people of Narmadapuram. And on that the city was renamed as Narmadapuram. Before that the city was known as Hoshangabad. On that day first I visited Narmada Herbal Park in evening where I feel very pleased and happy because the place was fully covered with trees. It was a best place for morning or evening walk.
Beside herbal park there is a small beach like place near river which is fully covered with sand. If you want to feel like beach in central India then that will be a good place for you.
After that finally the main program of Maa Narmada Janmotsav was started at Sethani ghat where I enjoyed Narmada Aarti, Narmada Ashtak, Renaming of city by State Cm and the Cultural events. It was a very good and great festival. It’s memories I will never forget.
After the program I reached to my hotel and then I visited Sethani Ghat in morning. It was best for watching sunrise and the view of river in morning.
Since it is a great place I will personally recommend you to visit Narmadapuram specially at the time of Maa Narmada Janmotsav.
If you will make a plan to visit Pachmahri then don’t forget to visit Narmadapuram.
Narmadapuram is 70 kms from the state capital Bhopal. You can easily reach Narmadapuram from Bhopal.
