Nami Island - South Korea

-

Did you know that Nami Island isn’t a cultural part of Republic of korea ?

The Naminara Republic, which declared its cultural independence from the Republic of Korea, has its own diplomatic and cultural policies. Naminara celebrates the imagination and shares its beautiful fairy tales and songs with guests from all over the world. (https://namisum.com/en/republic/introduce/)

In December 2010 Naminara Republic, Nami Island was designated a UNICEF Child Friendly Park. This was a first for Korea and only the 14th park in the world to receive such a designation. Nami was selected for this honor as a result of our ongoing financial support of UNICEF and cultural activities for children such as the Nami Island International Children’s Book Festival (Nambook). Nami Island has also been designated an “Easy Place” by The Human Rights Forum of Persons with Disabilities in Korea (PWDK) due to the ease of access we offer to all visitors.

Hello @nanik_rf ,

Thank you for the great pictures and the detailed information about Nami island, it would be of great help to anyone planning their visit there. Nami-som is indeed truly enchanting and a great place for a romantic walk. I really love how the place looks when fall comes and all the trees turn into their autumn “attire”. Have you been there during that season?

@LilyanaZ Thank you for passing by, I will edit this post later to add detailed information. Thank you for your advise. Yes, that’s very beautiful in autumn and winter, but I just have experience there in summer, so looks like typically woods. Hope I can see it in autumn or winter
