In adding a missing place to the map, Iets say I want to add Christ Anglican Church, Ikeja, Lagos State Nigeria to the map.
There is a category for Anglican Church which shows just below the name when the addition gets published, In my earlier additions, I would write the place as Christ Anglican Church Ikeja and then I would still select category which says Anglican Church, after a while, I started to feel that I was being too repetitive, hence, I started doing it as Christ Church followed by category Anglican Church which, when the entry gets published shows Church,
Now I am thinking in the direction of writing Only CHRIST as name of place, then selecting category as Anglican Church, and when the place is published, it brings up Christ (Anglican Church) + Name of location,
The ‘Name’ is the official name of publication while ‘category’ helps Google to know how to classify the place you’re adding. I don’t see that as a repetition and I think you’re doing just fine.
Meanwhile, please check under meet-ups topic on here as there’s a meet-up in Ikeja next weekend.
@Anakor_Jeremiah , Google By Business Help Page is giving a great explanation of How a Business name should be: “Enter your business name exactly as it appears in the real world across signage, stationery, and other branding”.
The category should not be part of the name, as it is a separate attribute
