Different than the initial days, a bit matured, responsible and motivated. There is neither a rush nor a laziness but a continuation of doing something on own way. The only thing unchanged is the ‘ One Man Community’. This doesn’t mean isolation but, for the betterment of society, the passion of doing something even alone too. There is no meant be something different but a local. This is why ‘WHEREVER YOU GO, BE LIKE A LOCAL’, the true sense of localguidesconnet.
Despite of constraints like hectic day-to-day routine, inaccessible internet, academic study, job etc, I can proudly say that, I am thoroughly contributing on the Google map. This made me a one of the lucky fellow who was selected for Connect Live 2019. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to participate in the event. I have no worries for the obstacles which were not under my control but I really miss the moment all the fellows spent to gain the knowledge and experience. Hope I would be able to make my presence in Connect Live - 2020.
The previous year I felt honored to be selected for Google Supported Meetup which was the Nepal’s first Google supported meetup. Being the first to host such event in Nepal is a remarkable achievement for me in my Local Guide journey. It was a big opportunity as well as big challenge host the supported event and to meet the expectations of Supported Meetups which wouldn’t be possible without my fellows beyond the scene. I am thankful to all fellows for their strenuous support on arranging the needful of the meetup.
With the beginning of New Year 2020, we had a plan to host one meetup during January or February. But the plan went on vain with the outburst of COVID-19 abroad. Now I am waiting for a good moment to come when all the things are normal, happiness is everywhere, getting together is common and mapping is frequent. Connective Live 2020 is waiting for you where I would also be coming to meet you, if being lucky. Stay safe and let’s map for the betterment of our own society.
The eagerness withing me for hosting the meetups and collaborate with fellows to make local guide community bigger and stronger never dies.
