Mysore Palace Virtual visit with street view

Pics taken by me during virtual tour of Mysore Palace

Thank you GMaps to allow Streetview permission in India this is an amazing feature. With help of this feature, I can take people to a particular location. For the last year, I am taking sessions for these psychogical patients this is one type of hostel where the patient is suffering from depression. And I am the lucky one to teach and take them on a virtual tour on GMaps.

We have done this through the help of the 360 street view feature available on google maps, the Mysore palace or Mysuru palace, also known as Amba Vilas Palace, is a historical palace and a royal residence located in Mysore, Karnataka. The reason for mentioning 360 street view is as all my students are mentally ill patients. Hence they enjoyed the 360 street view.

It is very neat and clean. They charge Rs 100 per adult as an entry fee and timings are from morning 10 am to evening 5:30 pm.

It faces the Chamundi hills and Mysore is known as the City of palaces.

It was built in the early 14th century by the royal family of Wodeyars. Mysuru palace was originally built of wood and was destroyed once by lightning (in 1638 AD), once by Tipu Sultan (in 1739 AD), and once again by fire in 1897 AD. Current Mysuru Palace is the fourth reconstruction, completed in 1912 and designed by British architect, Henry Irwin.

It has 8 temples inside the palace on all four sides. The names of the same are as under:

Sri Lakshmiramana Swami Temple, Sri Shweta Varahaswamy Temple, Sri Trinayaneshvara Swami Temple, Sri Prasanna Krishanswami temple, Kille Venkatramana Swamy Temple, Sri Bhuvaneshwari Temple, Sri Gayatri Temple & Kodi Bharravasvami Temple.

Inside the palace 7 different sections to be seen they are named as under:

The Dolls’ Pavilion, Golden Throne, Public Durbar Hall, Paintings Gallery, Marriage Pavilion, Portrait Gallery & Wrestling Courtyard.

How to reach Mysuru Palace:

By road: Bengaluru – 140 km. KSRTC and private operators have regular services to all important parts of the state and country.

By rail: Mysuru is well connected to Bengaluru, Chennai, and other towns with numerous passenger and express trains.

By air: Mysuru Airport – 10 km, Bengaluru – 140 km.

The end of the session is selfie time they love to take pics so every time I have to click with them.
