Dear Friends,

A request - if you like the photos, can I request you to kindly TAG your friends, please? - let them also enjoy - right? - thanks for your favour.

This is a series of Photo Posts where I am going to introduce one animal in each post. Most of the photos are from the Photo-Walks conducted in different Zoos including Mysore Zoo, Vandaloor Zoo, Nandankanan Zoo etc. - in this post, let us discuss Silver Pheasant.

Have you ever captured any photos of any wildlife? Can you give me company by publishing your shots?

Silver Pheasant

The silver pheasant (Scientific name - Lophura nycthemera) belongs to the Phasianidae Family and their Genus is Lophura. They are mainly found in the mountains of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Southeast Asia and eastern and southern China.

The Male pheasants are beautiful like any other pheasants. The males are white and black in colour and the females are brown in colour. They live in the Grasslands, Mountains and Forests. An average pheasant has a weight of up to 2 kg and a length of up to 125 cm.

A silver pheasant has a life span of between 15-20 years.

The Red List of IUCN listed pheasant as least concerned.

As an LG Photographer, I have spotted Silver Pheasant in Mysore Zoo Here.

@TravellerG sir amazing post as always. Pictures are very sharp and beautiful, it seems like in each and every picture the bird has given the look to take the best click

You don’t take a photograph. You just ask quietly to borrow it.

Hi, friend @Designer_Biswajit

"… taking pictures of animals and birds is not so easy…"

You are also a very good photographer, whom I admire very much.

Yes, you are right… Of course, besides some good gear we need patience & dedication to capture the animals and birds.

Avoiding the Grills/mesh in Zoo is a major task.

Regards with thanks
