Recently, I visited the Kursura Submarine Museum in Visakhapatnam. This unique museum, a decommissioned submarine, offers a glimpse into the life of a naval crew and the details of submarine operations.
The submarine was commissioned on December 18, 1969, the Kursura served the Indian Navy for over three decades. After its decommissioning on February 27, 2001, it was converted into a museum to educate the public about the submarine. It’s the first one-of-its-kind museum in Southeast Asia. The museum is located on RK Beach, Visakhapatnam, it easily accessible by car or public transportation. Knowledgeable guides provide detailed explanation about the submarine museum. Entry tickets are sold at the entrance at a nominal cost. You have to pay a fee for taking a camera inside. You are allowed to see everything and can take photos. Wheelchair accessibility is not available.

With the consent of dear friend @PrasadVR, I have tried to address your comments @FaridTDF, based on my visit’s experiences and some study about this museum.

This submarine was commissioned into Indian Navy way back in the year 1969. It was manufactured in Russia. After serving for more than 30 years in Indian Navy, it was decommissioned and turned into a museum.

I captured some of the interior photos with the permission on purchasing Camera ticket. Please have a glimpse of a subset of the interior photos taken by me.
