Our planet is truly unique. From the beginning of life to our evolution from a band of Homo Erectus, to Homo Sapiens, spreading out of Africa to the rest of the world, we have come a LONG way! With the advent of travel, each place on the Earth has developed its unique taste in its livelihood, food, culture, and most importantly, ideas and opinions. While one band will prefer to go out at night with friends, the other may choose to say their prayers peacefully and sleep early. Some may prefer delicious, well-seasoned food, while others may enjoy a plain simple pasta. That’s what makes humans so diverse. We certainly cannot change our habits and follow a particularly strict order which all humans must abide by. But we can and should learn about each other’s cultures. We can, in turn, study where the thought process arises, how history has impacted their thoughts, what they think about the origin of the world, where do they see themselves in the future, and the list goes on. This is what absolutely ignites my soul thinking about the Local Guides Program. Who else would know more about her/his lifestyle, than other Local Guides? This is a great opportunity to share each other’s lives and learn. As for me, I want to popularize the ancient sciences of my country. India has seen great gurus, who have derived the Pythagoras theorem, calculated the interplanetary distances, devised surprisingly accurate clocks, and much more. I also want to integrate Science with the lifestyle of an ancient Indian, and show how the term ‘Orient’ is misunderstood.
With this purpose, I end this post and hope to connect with some of the Local Guides reading this soon!
