This has happened second time. Just a while back I was writing a reply on Emrest’s post ‘Feeling of sun’ in the photography section. When I clicked the icon of camera to upload a photo, I was guided to my phoho gallery and I selected a photo there. But an error appeared that the photo size should be lesser than this. When I returned to Emrest’s post, my answer which I composed & typed with much effort; was gone! No where to be found… no draft nothing…!! OMG I am depressed ![]()
… please someone guide… I am a dud ![]()
Hi @GhazalaShah ,
You can see the drafts of your unsent messages in your Connect profile. Go to your profile and next to the Posts, Comments and Photos tabs you will find the Draft tab.
In the attached photo you can see clearly where to find it.
Please let me know if you manage to find your reply to Ermest’s post.
@JavieraAu sorry to say that none of the drafts saved is worthwhile. Few useless one liners or even one word saying ‘hey’ are saved. The drafts I was sad about were lengthy compositions. But no problem… However the lesson I learnt is that you always have to be in a fear of data loss. A few times I tried to copy paste my unfinished work to some file somewhere in my device but found that there were issues doing this and after selection the only option you got was ‘open with Chrome’ ![]()
. Nevertheless… I humbly thank you for your guidance ![]()

BTW… if possible please guide me on getting some training or some course done to understand the ways of tackling problems related to participation at Connect. Actually I am not an expert in all this ![]()
@GhazalaShah , sorry to hear that you didn’t find the draft of your post in the Draft tab.
Can you please inform me from what device did you try to reply? Was it a desktop or mobile phone? If you were using a mobile device, it’s going to be really helpful if you could tell us the model and the version of the operation system that you have.
Yes Miss surely. It is an Android smartphone called Samsung Galaxy S9+. Model SM-G965F. About a week ago the operating system is upgraded from Oreo to Pie. One UI version 1.0 Android version 9. Many thanks dear @JavieraAu for your precious attention ![]()

Thanks a lot for this information @GhazalaShah .
Just to be sure, is it possible that you’ve completely get out from the post from the arrow in the left down corner? If yes, that is how you totally exit the composed reply. Instead, would you mind trying again, as to try pressing the X in the upper left corner, so you can return in the body of the post.
From the screenshot below you can see the two buttons.
@JavieraAu good morning
! Ok. I tried again and clicked the back arrow on upper left corner (in my device there is an arrow here, not a cross). Generally when in mid of a post, I click upper left arrow; a window appears warning me that if I left the site my work will be closed. But I somehow left the site but found a draft of ‘Hello just testing’ (including below). Again I tried to select a heavier photo file & got the same warning that reduce the size of file and then try again. But this time I was automatically brought back to the message left in middle. Previously (for 2-3 times) on this stage the message got vanished after getting warning about file size, with no draft saved.
Thanks for the update @GhazalaShah . We are going to investigate this matter. If we have some more additional question we are going to get in touch with you.
This happened once again today. I feel like pulling my hair. How can I take out so much time and energy to compose my work again? Connect app is having some other issues too which make me leave it instead of posting comfortably. @JavieraAu
Hi @GhazalaShah ,
Really sorry to hear that your are facing this inconvenience once again. We are still investigating this matter and once we have а solution I’ll reach to you.
Hello @GhazalaShah ,
Well, I might not have a technical solution in order to fix these killing issues of ghost Reviews…
Heaving had on numerous accounts similar issues like you had experienced and that with all kinds of apps and not only with Google Reviews, where I lost in a blink of a second Reviews which took me sometimes not only ages to put together but also blood, sweat and tears to research correct and compose!!
I have decided in order to not want to kill my phones each time it happens, but mostly for myself to stop aging prematurely out of shear deseparation and rage… .
To finally take it a totally different way around in order to find for me the best solution to this ever repeating issue.
I mean: I organized myself a good writing App with various typing captions & options like creating new Folder & folder Trees, new Titles, automatic timer set savings. hhh…
And to start from now on every Review, Note, Writing of any kind in a separate Word prgm/app with a new Page properly indexing each Review under for Ex: Google Review Folders with the corresponding Google Map Title…Dates, and options of Notes, aso…
At the same time I can now keep easily trace my Notes, keep a copy of all, compare them and find new ways to improve them all together, find more easy solutions about composition weaknessis and with time add new discovered elements.
Also have them run in batches through grammatical correction apps… aso.
It also allows you to consider your Review work as a Whole or a Set instead of many small separated and independant parts without any connection and therefore to improve the global view of content and style you have now of them all.
Otherwise once the review written and specially if you have put so much energy and efforts into it, you will either post it (if it hasn’t just vanished) or rewrite it with a lot less motivation if it did disappear.
But basically that’s it. Eventually re-read it from time to time…
I know by experience that Google appreciates updated, style improved, grammatically correct reviews (as well do customers appreciate that) and at the base our job is first intended for future guests when writing about Hospitality or any other Theme.
So if I may there are only good reasons to not write “Live” or On Line where basically anything can happen.
Preparing separately all your Reviews allows to take it more easy, work more efficiently and more focused.
When I have time I take for ex. all my Reviews with me to a nice terrasse and work on them* or do research for new upcoming ones. (*as I write too long… to cut away big percentages of not criticaly important phrases… )
So that is how I dealt with that text vanishing issue and how it allowed me at the same time to create a more organized and safe platform to Review my Reviews and to keep a safe copy of all of them and their progress through time.
You might do it your way depending on your own method but I reckon that it is one of the means to not losing again all of your hard work that you had gained after so much efforts and ardors.
I hope it will help.
I was working on my local story and it disappeared. I then clicked load autosaved
content but nothing happened and there is nothing under saved in my profile.
Any idea where this might be? Thanks.
Same thing happened to me and I had to start all over again!
Also my list’s comments have disappeared!

I don’t know why!
Hi @Andrew_1 and @Mehrn00sh ,
Could you please confirm if you have searched your unfinished post. You can find the drafts of your unsent messages in your Connect profile as shown bellow.
Please note that I will merge your post to the My unfinished comment vanishes instead of being saved as a draft thread where similar topic has been discussed.
Dear @MashaPS ,
I managed to post my local story yesterday but I still have problems commenting on my Google maps list even on my computer! It’s so frustrating. I get the notice “server error. please try again later.”
What can I do?
Mehrnoush
Thanks @Vince_S read your post. You are right. I will try to reply to you in detail after 30th of April. I have lost the unfinished data so many times that I have become almost habitual. This has happened just a while ago when I was trying to write a post for Connect live application. It is disappointing and create a lot of stress and waste of time and energy
