My Twisted Food

Things l like to do in “ME TIME”

  • Reading some good books
  • Learning new things
  • Watching my favorite web -series or movies
  • Spending time with my niece and playing with her
  • And one of the most favorite is to cook.

Being a foodie I have a habit to experiment with food and keep adding twists to the regular recipe.

today I would love to share My Twisted Food with everyone, hope you all will like it.

I love to eat veggies, especially the stir fried veggies which includes: Bell peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, corn, tomatoes, carrots and a lot more.

Using some of the vegetables I made some delicious things for everyone at home.

Twisted Pasta

Salad Roll (Hot dog)

Corn cheese Garlic Bread.

  1. Twisted Pasta:

I usually prefer white pasta with sweet corn and bell peppers but this time I planned to make it a bit different. I added some broccoli, onions, baby corn, tomatoes replaced regular pasta with semolina pasta (which is a healthier option) instead of adding more cheese to the pasta, just used it as garnish.

I call it pasta with a twist because I made some changes to it by adding ketchup, green chilly sauce, and red chilly powder (yes chilly powder to make it a little spicy and colour).

  1. Salad Rolls:

Hot dog here in India is called “Roll” in many places, usually available at the bakery and sandwich stalls. Here I made two variations of roll one was with raw vegetables and other was with stir fried vegetables,

Raw vegetable salad roll: I chopped purple cabbage, onions, bell peppers, sweet corn, baby corn, tomatoes, zucchini and refrigerated till they were chilled (just like we have chilled veggies in subway sandwich), added same sauces to seasoning to enhance the flavor, lightly toasted the bread and cut it from between added the salad mixture and drizzled with some chilly tomato sauce.

Stir Fried salad roll: here I chopped the pieces and stir fried them in little oil, added some salt, black pepper, and some chopped sliced cheese, mixed it with sauces and stuffed it in the Hot dog bread.

  1. Corn cheese Garlic bread:

Made this one for my brother who loved to eat garlic bread, used garlic loaf bread cut them into small pieces applied a mixture of twisted sauce made using butter, garlic chutney, 1000 island sauce, Italian herbs dip, cheese mayonnaise added mixed herbs, oregano and chilly flakes.

Applied this sauce on each piece of bread, topped it with sweet corn, some diced onions, chopped cheese slice, and baked it in pre-heated oven for 10 minutes at 180 degree.

Hope you all will try to make any of it, I would love to know your Twisted Food too do share it in the comments.

PS . If you loved this post I will surely come up with more such posts.

@FalguniP Excellent post. Your twisted dishes look delicious. I also love cooking but now I don’t cook as I’m too lazy to clean up. Hahaha. This post reminds me of when I was in high school, I made scrambled egg with minced pork, garlic, onion and oyster sauce. I had it with soft and warm white rice. I might make it again someday. If so, I will share the photos with you. Thank you for sharing this delicious post with us.

Wow @FalguniP ,

All these dishes look amazing. I’m sure the taste would be equally great. Thank you very much for tagging me.

I must say you have good photography skills too. The first picture is mind-blowing - seems similar to our “Namak-dani” at home (the spice box of every kitchen in India) … :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I should try to make at least something in this lockdown. Can you suggest me anything easy one? I’m very very poor in cooking, tbh …

@FalguniP One pot meal would be great, less cleaning up. :slightly_smiling_face: I look forward to your sharing yummy dishes.

Hahahah cooking is the most amazing thing to do if you are foodie @Tushar18

since we cannot go out we can try experimenting at home with ingredients available !

You can try making cheese garlic bread- you can simply use our regular bread slices or brown bread,

  • Take 2-3 table spoon butter
  • Add chopped garlick (try to chursh to enhance taste)
  • Add some oregano, chilly flakes (if not available you can add little red chilly powder)
  • Add cheese if available or you can add any veggies (tomato/capsicum/onion)
  • You can bake it in oven or you can simply toast it on our roti/non stick tawa

You can enjoy it like a evening snack

Ps. Photography improves with good phone and correct angle

Thanks for the compliments

I will surely come up with easy recipe so even non cooking LGs can give a try !

Thanks a lot @FalguniP for this amazing recipe. I wish it comes out an easy process for me. I’ll definitely try this dish in the coming days, but I have to arrange the stuff first.

However, I would urge you to add a post about some Indian sweet dish (that would be unique thing for many LGs here) - may be halwa or kheer, if it’s convenient to you. :grinning:
